a very good day

a good day, starts with a good night when you're a mom, i have decided.

diedre and i went to sleep at 7pm...well, sort of sleep, she fed for awhile and fell asleep somewhere around 8pm. she didn't wake up until 12.30pm for her next feeding. then after feeding she slept again til 4am. i was feeling pretty alert at that time. she needed 2 changes and 2 feeding really. then we slept again.

i was awoken at 5.20am by derek's alarm. i asked him why he had his alarm set so early and he said he wanted to make me breakfast in bed. how sweet! i asked him if i could eat closer to 7am, since i wasnt really accustomed to eating at that time. he reset his alarm and woke me up with a plate hosting an omelette, toast, bacon and orange juice on the side. it was very delicious and thoughtful. he had gone out last night while i was sleeping and bought groceries for this surprise breaky.

he also gave me my birthday card and one from diedre. it was so sweet.

when diedre and i finally got up, around 9am, we had a nice time. i fed her and checked my email and caught up on some blogging.

the sun was shining and it was such a beautiful day. when lunch time came around and i wanted to bring my tired girl for a walk. she slept the whole time and came back in a good mood. i brought sparky along too. it was my first time bringing him for a walk with diedre by myself. i was hoping he would be really obedient, and he did great.

for lunch i decided on a comfort food from my childhood. it is Kraft Dinner & canned mushrooms fried in butter. it was a snack that my childhood best friend and i used to have quite often. today, was just such a good day and that food combo is a good memory so i combined the two. it was not as satisfying as i hoped because i was concerned that diedre was getting hungry so i kinda rushed eating it.

anyway, i feel very delighted with my day, spending time with diedre and the plan to go out for dinner at Washington Avenue Grill tonight. so we'll see how the day goes from here.
